Hi folks, I have been wondering for a while about all the different places that one can find bacterial genomes on the NCBI ftp site. If one looks in the genome folder there are (at least) subfolders Bacteria, Bacteria_DRAFT, ASSEMBLY_BACTERIA, and HUMAN_MICROBIOM. I think I understand that Bacteria is for completed genomes and HUMAN_MICROBIOM is for genomes specifically done by the HMP. Can someone tell me what the difference is between Bacteria_DRAFT and ASSEMBLY_BACTERIA? Also are there any genomes in HUMAN_MICROBIOM that are not in the other places?

Also is it true that the Bacteria are in the nr nt and NCBI genomes BLAST databases, while the drafts and assemblies are in wgs?
