I can sometimes see the word 'k-mer hit' when study papers or books.

(When k-mer is made by read, they use a word 'k-mer hit')

What is the k-mer hit?

Does it mean that the number of exactly matching between reference sequencing and k-mer?

I wonder the exactly meaning about k-mer hit.

A kmer hit indicates a kmer (subsequence of k bases long) shared between two sequences.
