I serve as program director and we are striving to create a new and novel program that targets scientists with biology and medical background as well as computation scientists wishing to develop bioinformatics skill. Our program aims to train participants in the "arts" of big genomic data analytics. The program is based on a series of courses developed and offered over the past five years at Penn State. We are fine tuning these for the online format and target topics with direct applications for labs and research centers that make use high throughput sequencing.
