How update Blast+?

how i can update Blast+?, because i have the 2.28 version, and i wanna update to 2.29 version, but i dont know if i need to download and install, or i need to unistall the previous version, or if exist some command to update on Linux...


pd i am alrready download this "ncbi-blast-2.2.29+-x64-linux.tar.gz" from "Index of ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/blast/executables/LATEST/"

yes but, they dont say how to update in another plataform like Biolinux

For help with Biolinux I would advise contacting them directly via the mailing lists at http://nebc.nerc.ac.uk/about-us/mailing-lists

Standalone BLAST Setup for Unix is where they tell how to install blast+ to any *nix. Anyway, since you're using biolinux, I would imagine that they have the latest blast+ in their repositories, in which case you can install blast+ with apt (refer to biolinux documentation).
