I run a startup company that uses bioinformatics to improve clinical outcomes. Our team is 12 really smart people, and we are looking for more. We are especially interested in great programmers who understand omics data. If you are interested and think you qualify, please send me a message at careers -at- alliancegenomics -dot- com
describing your credentials and what you are looking for in a job.
Full time and part time positions are available. We are located in New York City and Cambridge, Mass; however, smart people are so hard to find, we can let you work wherever you live.
We look forward to meeting you!
"We are especially interested in great programmers who understand omics data." Sounds quite broad requirement as the -omics field is extremely diverse nowadays, maybe it would be better to put a bit more details here? E.g. I'm a person quite familiar with genomics data, but I've never dealt with proteomics data
Since we are a small startup, we have a need for lots of different types of people. We did not want to exclude anyone who might be smart.
I applied to the position [mailed at the id provided]. Have my bachelors and masters in Bioinformatics [actively looking for jobs]. Would be happy if I can hear back.
How would people apply? (emails are not visible on the site, users can see their own email but not other people's email)
Fixed! Sorry, I thought users could send messages directly on this site. Thanks for the help!
Hi LuckyStar
It is very difficult to find someone that has a undergraduate level in stats, biology and informatics. I have friends that are specialists (masters and doctors) in math, know a little programming in matlab, but don't know nothing in biology. I have friends that are phd in genetics, know enough in stats and don't know noting in programming field. I have friends that are programmer know a little in stats and don't know noting in biology. It is a hard task to someone that comes from a math and informatics undergrad, to read a scientific paper in molecular biology fields. And is more difficult to create something new in this field. You will find smart people in all those groups but, you must specify the specifiic ability you are looking for.
If you want to receive applications you should specify a email address directly here, as others do.
That's not a link, it's a slightly obfuscated email address. Having emailed them to get some clarification on what exactly they're looking for, I can attest that the address at least worked a week ago.
BTW, op's username is LuckyStar, not Lucy.
Thanks Devon
