Hi Ann,

I've emailed the admin on this and we've been doing a bit of back and forth. My analysis of the problem stands here:

There are two kinds of links on the tweets: IFTTT links (that go ift.tt/) and google links (that go goo.gl/). The IFTTT links are fine, but the google links miss out a /p/ in their URL. They redirect to biostars.org/<GUID> instead of to biostars.org/p/<GUID>

We're trying to find out the root cause behind this problem, but are unsuccessful so far. I'm sure the admin will get this working soon. In the meantime, I guess we could use the IFTTT link or add the /p/ part manually.

I have put in a rewrite at the static webserver level, so the links should work.

I hope that with that I have not broken anything else. Keep your eyes open and please report in this thread if something seems amiss.

The rewrite seems to not be working at the moment. When I click on the link in this tweet, I still get a 404 error, though just adding the "p/" in manually to the URL works.

heh, that was a second kind of incorrect link - one that did not have the trailing / in the URL - I originally tried to maximally match the pattern as shown.

now should work.
