I mistakenly logged into a wrong account on Biostars and answered a question. If it receives any up-votes, this secondary account's reputation will be affected, instead of my "true" one's.
Is there a way to merge two accounts on Biostars, or change the owner of a posted answer?
What would you need a secondary account for?
I wouldn't ;) However, when signing in on my cell phone for the first time, I got several options to choose from for signing in (Facebook, Google, GiHub). I chose GitHub, which automatically created a new account for me, as the email I use on GitHub is different from the one I use on Biostars (so the duplicated account wasn't detected despite the same username).
I noticed this when it was already too late (I already used the newly created account to answer a question).
currently we don't have account merges but we are planning to add this feature
Would it be possible to have the account merged manually by an admin like in this thread: Biostar - Merging Of Accounts?
The system has been rewritten from ground up two times since that post. In this current version we do not have account merging but it is a feature that we plan to add. Once added you'll be able to merge these accounts.
Ok, I understand. Thanks!
What is the state of the art on this? I've just imported a neuroinformatics mailing list (google group) into neurostars.org and I was wondering if there's an easy way to merge accounts in Biostars2 engine.
Thanks Istvan!
