" ERROR: ObjMgrNextAvailEntityID failed with idx 2048" when using blastpgp

I am running blastpgp using as query a .faa file containing around 31.000 seq. My db contains also more than 50000 seq, and I select -m 9 to have a tab del output. During the run I get the following error:

ERROR: ObjMgrNextAvailEntityID failed with idx 2048

but blast keeps running.

I read here that before blast+, this was an issue. I already had blast+, however I downloaded the lates version (2.2.30) re-installed and run it again. But still the same error.

Any idea hot to fix this?

Given that the Legacy NCBI BLAST program 'blastpgp' was replaced with the 'psiblast' program in NCBI BLAST+, one possibility is that you are still using 'blastpgp', and thus the Legacy NCBI BLAST programs.

Check the command line being used, and ensure it has been converted to the form used by the NCBI BLAST+ tools (see "BLAST Command Line Applications User Manual" for more details). If you still have problems after converting the process to use NCBI BLAST+, I suggest contacting the BLAST folks ([e-mail]) at NCBI for further assistance.
