Hi,

I would like to ask if there is any course/training/workshop on the database development or such. I am looking forward for such training for beginner bioinformatician. I am more concerned into NGS-data analysis, genome browser or database development, as well as programming course (PERL, JAVA, R- all for bioinformatis). Is there any institution/lab organizing this on 2015? Or perhaps, short-attachment allowed in any lab for this?

Regards,

CikAlal.

Hi,

I have passed those basic programming part. In fact, I have developed some basic biological databases, but those were built based on PHP and MYSQL only. That's why I'm looking for any short courses/trainings to enhance my skills.

Your question is very broad and covers a lot of potential topics, but seeing as you specifically mention database development you might be interested in these course notes from the NEBC.

It has something of a bioinformatics leaning to it, and will probably still be relevant if you have a Bio-Linux installation/live boot, which will have the relevant packages installed.

Hi Daniel Swan,

Thanks for the link. Seems good though. I'll go through the web. Thanks!
