primer design function for perl program

Hi all,

Although there are well enough online program for primer design, such as web tool from illumina and life.

To develop several specific primers, I want to know is there any source that I can get to confirm the function of primers, such as Complementarity, dimer,Stability...?

Have you tried the Primer3 program? BioPerl has a wrapper for it. I think BioPython also has one.

The Perl wrappers are in Bio::Tools::Primer3 - search.cpan.org and Bio::Tools::Run::Primer3 - search.cpan.org

I used both of the modules for perl you provided before, however, even I looked into the pm files for details, they did not provide the function for the primer selection, such as Complementarity, dimer...

I can use the primer3 or other newest tools for primer design.

However, I want to know if there is any perl function or other languages to define the function for primer selection.
