I hesitated to post this question in stead of mailing the site administrators as this question is not a bioinformatics question. Still I think it could be relevant for many biostars visitors/members so I decided to post it. A lot of the time I am visiting biostars I use my mobile. The up-arrows to up-vote an answer do not appear (for comments I can use the thumbs-up icons). Although I prefer to use the mobile version, maybe switching to a desktop version could be the solution. However, I haven't found a way to do so. Or is my problem browser specific and should I try different ones? (currently using default android browser on samsung galaxy S4)

Have you tried rotating the screen? That works on an ipad and I think my phone as well.
Good suggestion but it didn't work on my galaxy S4. Now I have a reason to buy a phone with a bigger screen :-)
I think the voting icons should appear also in the mobile version once you are logged in at least, but they seemingly don't.
Hmm, maybe I'm misremembering the phone part of that then. But don't let that dissuade you from the phone upgrade if this serves as a convenient excuse!
yes, I noticed that too, in landscape rotation biostar is in desktop css mode and in portrait position, it is in mobile mode.
I have run into difficulties using Biostars on an iPhone, which push me to use a laptop browser. If there's interest I can report what I've run into?
