Tophat option -p

Hi,

It is my first time running Tophat and I am trying to figure out its different options.

specifically the "-p" option. There is not much explained about it in the official Tophat manual.

additionally, does anyone know of a good tutorial or manual for Tophat?

It's the number of cores on which you want to run your tophat command , e.g number of cpu or threads for the memory , -p has nothing to do with tophat algorithm, it's just allocation of memory
