Hi,

could you kindly suggest me a program that takes in input a group of aligned sequences and gives in output an image with the conservation of each residue represented by the different size of each letter (corresponding to the each residue)? I don t know if I was clear..I mean the image with the letters in different size you can see for example in the papers when the authors want to show the conservation of specific residues.

Thanks :)

Silvia

There seem to be a Bioconductor package, seqLogo, to do that; this blog post gives a nice example. It requires some familiarity with R so not really an off-the-shelf solution (which on the other hand gives you more control on what you do).

There are also nice web services for this, e.g. http://weblogo.berkeley.edu/logo.cgi
