Hey,
I just found this Summer School in Bioinformatics that will take place between 29th of June and 10th of July 2015. More info can be found here http://summerschools.univ-angers.fr/en/index/schools/bioinformatics/courses.html.
I'm asking for your opinion on this Summer School. Do you think it's worth it, taking into consideration the place, the programme or the speakers?
I'm a PhD student in molecular biology and I'm also interested in bioinformatics, but I'm a beginner. I'm thinking about registering, but I'm not convinced. I asked the organizers if there were previous editions and they told me that this is the first time they do a summer school in bioinformatics, the previous 2014 edition being cancelled.
Any information would be helpful!
Thank you in advance!
I've heard about that guy. In my experience summer schools are some of the best places for networking, learning principles of a wide variety of subjects, and having fun.
seriously: last year the summer school was merged with another one because it was publicized too late. I gave a short course with @SolenaLS about the basic steps of exome analysis. (align, sort, call, annotate). So the main subject of the school wasn't bioinformatics and my public was a group of sleepy physicians (yeahh "fiesta" !) who didn't get much things about linux and the command line. Anyway, in 2015, for my sesssion, don't expect to learn how to program or to get your hands dirty, but you'll get some general ideas about how to proceed. You can get more informations about this school from @GrasJulien .
