Hi all,
I am new to the world of bioinformatics but have started building out support for various bio data formats (genomics, imagery, etc.) in the RAMADDA data management platform (http://geodesystems.com/repository/alias/bio). I come from the geoscience world but there are many similarities to the bio world - lots of data, lots of data formats, lots of services and tools, metadata, provenance, etc.
I have seen a number of posts asking about electronic lab notebooks and am interested in finding out some specifics of features and functionality that folks would want in such a system.
Beyond managing the data files and providing services for them (ala Galaxy) what other kinds of information, metadata and services would people want in such a system?
Thanks,
Jeff
Is this an electronic lab notebook for bioinformatics, or are you planning on including wet lab stuff?
I'm looking at bioinformatics, not wet lab
