I am trying to find the homologs on ion channel genes in the sponge phylum.

Hello everyone,

I am trying to find the homologs of the ion channel genes in the sponge phylum. However I am not sure as to how I should proceed. Should I download all the transcriptomes from NCBI on my desktop and then blast them. or should I just blast them directly onto the NCBI website.

I would appreciate it if anyone could provide a little help or guidance or just point me in the right direction.
