TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,
I am looking to obtain the averaged PhastCons scores of the Human genes (from multiple alignment with 19 vertebrates). However, the only info I have about those genes are from the headers (fixedstep.......) , contained in the file giving the PhastCons score for each nucleotide, that only inform me about the chromosome in which the gene is located and the start location. What I need to know is the Gene's name ((e.g. TP53, MDM2, BRCA1...). I do not understand why there is no file in the UCSC browser listing the genes' names. Or maybe there is? Is there a way to obtain the names of THOSE GENES? Any ideas?
Looking forward to hearing from you soon,
Best,
Jeff J. O.
