Hello,
I have a statistical background and I am absolutely a noob on genetics. Currently, I am carrying out an study of SNP associated to a certain disease (CKD) in a case/control study. I have found some SNPs associated to CKD, both individually and with additive effects in multivariate models.
On the other hand, I found the existence of haplotypes in some pairs of SNPs located in the same gene.
My question is... it make sense to consider logistic multivariate model containing haplotypes and SNPs at the same time to predict CKD? I googled but I didn't found the answer. I read several papers similar to what I am doing and no one has tried to combine haplotypes and SNPs.
Many thanks in advance!
Did you ever find an answer?
