I want to find the nearest ancestor of several GO terms from DAG. Is there any proper tools? preferably use perl or python. Thank you very much!

I usually search for it in a plot, but there should be a tool. The GoSims package of Bioconductor seems able to do it see page 5.

Thank you very much! I have solved my problems using GOSim, it's really a very usfull tool.

When you said ancestor I though last common ancestor. This tool is no published yet but shows you along the evolutionary lineages since when a term exists, in other words, when it has been originated, fell free to testing:
