Suppose If I have a dna which is sheared into pieces how can they be possibly overlap? What sequencing method is used in illuminia sequencer.is it chain termination method?amplification will give all equal size of reads? What is the next step after amplification in flow cell?

Hi,

They can overlap because you do not have 1 single molecule of DNA. Almost all of the ngs platforms are use shotgun sequencing to analysis your sample.

this might be helpful,
