Hello everyone!

I'm new to NGS and will be working on data analysis of NGS (Illumina MiSeq) in few months time. So before that, I want to obtain some raw NGS data in FASTQ or FASTA format for some practice on bioinformatics programs.

Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks

Hi Adnan,

Try SRA database which contains lot of NGS sequences. You can download and play around it.

Thank you.

As well as the SRA there is the European Nucleotide Archive which overlaps with the SRA but not completely. I would also highly suggest creating a BaseSpace account with Illumina. There are actually a number of publicly available datasets there as well that you can download. Especially if you are going to work with targeted sequencing panels you can often find sets on there that correspond to what you will be working on.
