In my debian testing system I have two blast packages:

ncbi-blast+ 2.2.25-7 with homepage http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/IEB/ToolBox/CPP_DOC/

and

blast2 1:2.2.25.20110713-3 with homepage http://www.ncbi.nih.gov/BLAST/

What is the difference between them? Which one is more recent?

if you think that the description of blast2/blast+ is not clear enough, you may fill a bug report to the debian tracker, and they will fix it. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?dist=unstable;package=ncbi-blast%2B

Ok, so ncbi-blast+ is the most recent version. And it is recommended to use it. Is this correct?
