Is there a compiled list of kmers of k as short as possible, say between 20-30, that are never to be seen in a human genome or viral genomes or DNA contamination potentially present in a human resequencing run? I would like to use those as barcodes. Any ideas?

I think you are asking about so-called "nullomers". See this paper for a definition and discussion: http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0001022
