How to find out Drug Mode of Action?

I am interested in knowing the mode of action of a drug named 'Benyzladenine'. It's a plant cytokinin and helps in treatment of diseases caused by exon skipping/defective splicing of pre-mRNA for example, Familial dysautonomia. This plant cytokinin somehow helps in exon inclusion (mutated exon, which in other case will be skipped and lead to the disease onset) but the actual mechanism of how it works is unknown.

I was wondering if only the experimental approaches are a solution to this problem or by using computational methods I can predict this drug's mode of action? Here is a patent talking about this topic.
