Hi, I think this is probably an easy one, but it's been a while since I did much work with trees-
I'm trying to build a phylogram of a few species based on the divergence data in Time Tree of Life (http://www.timetree.org/). I built a symmetric numeric matrix of the divergence times for all the species (numbers are millions of years ago) but now I'm trying to figure out what to do next. Since I'd like to use the times as-is for the edge lengths, I need to find some way to arrange the edges based on the times.
I tried reading in the 50,000+ species tree data dump from their site, but a few of the species I'm interested in have data on their site but not in their data download. Plus I'd really like to know what this step it is I'm missing that feels so simple but I'm just blanking on.
Any ideas?
