Where can I do an online project to get some hands on experience with NGS data analysis?

For gaining experience on NGS data analysis, you don't get any online projects. You need to join any lab doing the kind of work you would like to do or you need to learn on your own. If the former is not possible go through review papers on NGS (decide which one WES/WGS/RNA-seq...etc by reading wiki of each) then download the raw data from NCBI-SRA and try to reproduce the results. It will give you some idea how things work in the process. Previous posts that are helpful

I would go through the docs for BCBio-Nextgen, a series of pipelines for analyzing next generation sequencing data. You will also learn about deploying a pipeline in the cloud and using docker, which can be a good skillset to put in the CV.
