BLAST+ Parsing query sequence definition

It may be something simple I am missing but I cannot seem to identify the blast plus format command that allows the output file to contain the subject sequence definition. For example I blast a query against a database of specific proteins and want it to have a dedicated column that gives the definition of the protein and the organism it came from.

Are you using pre-formatted databases from NCBI or your own?
Can you show the exact outfmt command options you are using?

I am using a fasta file from uniprot. The command I am running is -outfmt 7

That option needs to be something like

-outfmt "7 sscinames scomnames stitle"

to get the information you need.

That is what I was missing. Thank you.
