I am currently analyzing epigenomic data (histone modification and DNA methylation data) and other data associated with it, like DNASE-Seq and ChIP-Seq for TFs, co-regulators, histone modifiers and DNA methyltransferases.
However, since conceptually there is no computational difference in handling them, I am looking for a catchy umbrella term with which I can describe all together. So saying just "epigenomic data" would not be enough here, because of the remaining data.
If you could provide me with some ideas for a good term for everything, I would be delighted.
Epigenetics is a field without a good description. A lot of people say it's not epigenetics unless its maintained trans-generationally. Other people call anything chromatin-related other than the DNA sequencing to be epigenetics. Personally, I see nothing wrong with "epigenomic data" or just "sequencing data" for the datasets you describe. Hope that helps/delights.
