Hi,

I was wondering if you could help me interpet a methods section on a paper. The author's say they collected data using "34 × 8 × 34 reads from a MiSeq or 50 × 8 × 50 reads on a HiSeq"

What do each of those numbers refer to? Are they read length, flow cell lanes, and cycles?

Thank you!

They are read lengths/number of sequencing cycles. R1=34 bp R2=34 bp (for MiSeq example). The number in the middle is the length of the tag/barcode read.
