I know that there is the option to retrieve any ensemble link by entering the following:
"www.ensembl.org/id/ENS##########" where "####" is the rest of the gene id.
Is there an option to retrieve any ensembl id even from plants, bacteria, etc, without having to add the prefix to the webpage?
Here there is an example of what I expect:
- geneid1: "CAD01290" (from bacteria)
- geneid2: "ENSG00000139618" (from human)
I know that this works:
- link 1: "http://bacteria.ensembl.org/id/CAD01290"
- link 2: "http://www.ensembl.org/id/ENSG00000139618"
But is there a way to share the same webpage prefix, such as:
- link 1: "http://all.ensembl.org/id/CAD01290"
- link 2: "http://all.ensembl.org/id/ENSG00000139618"
which could allow to access to any of the ensembl webpages no matter if it is a plant, bacteria, fungi, etc...?
Thank you very much
And is there any way to input the gene and retrieve the division?
such as:
Thank you
No, Ensembl (vertebrates) and Ensembl Genomes (the five non-vertebrate divisions) are on different databases and servers. You can't search both in one go.
