Merge gtf file by coordinates

I want to merge 2 gtf files in the same way that bedtools merge would do so. so that each overlapping region indicated by the coordinates are combined, but keeps that rest of the information in the gtf. Is there a programme that does this?

I guess that bedtools merge can handle gtf files.
