Is the EMBOSS project still alive?

Dear all,

is the EMBOSS project still alive? I can't download the latest tarball (broken link), the mailing list manager is broken (so I cannot subscribe to ask the question), and their CVS server gives a time-out. Does anyone know?

A recurrence of Where did EMBOSS go?. Get the alternate downloads from the links in this thread.

Yes, this appears to be the case, thanks. BTW, I also got e-mail bounces from [e-mail]: 421 4.4.0 [internal] no MXs for this domain could be reached at this time (and also postmaster and webmaster).

I'll ask/notify the EBI people.

EMBOSS is hosted under the OBF servers that also hosted bioperl, biopython, etc. There was a recent server breach detected that took most of the websites offline, including EMBOSS. We have many of the instances back up but EMBOSS is a key missing one (primarily b/c it was using static HTML and not a wiki instance). We expect it to be up at some point, but for the time being I suggest using the alternate download locations.
