The Bioinformatics Specialization on Coursera is moving to an on-demand format on Monday, May 23. This means that there will always be a session of these courses up and running.
The Capstone challenge, with support from industry partner Illumina, will launch in July.
The Specialization features an interactive version of Bioinformatics Algorithms: An Active Learning Approach, along with lecture videos, quizzes, and guided application challenges walking students through standard bioinformatics pipelines.
An "Honors Track" is designed for learners who are interested in implementing standard algorithms in bioinformatics, from read mapping to evolutionary tree construction and HMMs for sequence alignment. The code challenges encountered on the Honors Track are also hosted at Rosalind.
