Two-year PostDoc Opportunity currently available at the Center for Integrative Biology (CIBIO), Trento, Laboratory of Neurogenomic Biomarkers, for a research projects in Neurogenomics/Human genetics
Genome-wide analysis of clinical sub-phenotypes in neuropsychiatry

The successful candidate will conduct genome-wide association studies on clinical data from psychiatric patients aimed at the identification of genetic determinants of clinical phenotypes, including cognitive functions. The project is based on the availability of genome-wide data from clinically well characterized patient cohorts. The study will involve i) phenotypic data reduction into components; ii) Genome-Wide Association Study; iii) pathway analysis; iv) integration with data on the genetics of brain expression from precompetitive consortia genomic datasets.
A minimum of 3 years of experience and relevant publications in computational biology, statistical genetics or bioinformatics are required. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge in statistical genetic approaches on large scale datasets and skills in programming languages and software environments for statistical computing. Previous experience in the neuroscience area and in the analysis and in the analysis and reduction of clinical dimensions will be considered a plus. Familiarity with pathway analysis tools, genomic databases and repositories is highly desirable.
Requirements
Four or Five-year degree in Biological or Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Statistics, Information Sciences, Bioinformatics, Bioengineering or equivalent disciplines awarded by an Italian university or a title obtained abroad.
Good/Excellent knowledge of the English language and a professional-scientific CV in line with the research program are also required.
