I found several studies on selection in human populations. But the studies I found all used old version of 1000 genome data. I wonder where there is a systematic study on positive and balancing selection using the latest 1000 genome phase 3 data. Thanks.
As phase 3 data did not become available until October 2015, it may still be early days to get papers on testing positive/balancing selection based on that data. The consortium's last papers may give you some insight into selection though. The paper A global reference for human genetic variation has highlighted novel selection signals (e.g. TRBV9, PRICKLE4) whereas An integrated map of structural variation in 2,504 human genomes) suggests HERC2 as a target for future studies in the realm of selection.
