what happened to ea-utils?

Does anyone know what the status of ea-utils is? The repository is on Google Code, which was shut down over a year ago. It's a really nice set of utilities. There used to be updates every few months, but nothing since 2013. It's a shame that it's no longer maintained (as far as I can tell) and I am afraid it's going to completely disappear soon. Maybe someone forked it?

Update (12/2016): The Google Code page now includes a link to https://expressionanalysis.github.io/ea-utils/ so I guess that is the official new home.

Expression analysis (ea part) was purchased by Quintiles a few years back (Quintiles recently merged with a different company). Not sure if Eric Aronesty (either the author or one of the authors) is still with the company. It looks like he has not logged into Biostars for a couple of years.

Then this is Edit could be the author's repository: https://github.com/earonesty/ea-utils , last commit in 2015

There is also this one: https://github.com/ExpressionAnalysis/ea-utils That looks more official.

That looked a little questionable to me, but I'll take your word that that is the actual author. Not sure why there is no link to from the Google Code page. Also, all the code is in the "clipper" directory for some reason.

As far as last commit, it is indeed in 2015, but that was just adding the README. The last one before that is 2014 and that looks like it was auto-imported from Google Code.

Oops, please don't take my word for this, because I don't know! What I wanted to write (and didn't make clear while jumping to conclusions): if the, or one of the, original author(s) is Eric Aronesty (following only from genomax2 mentioning that name and I have no more information about) AND the account earonesty belongs to same person with that name (which I did not and cannot verify). Sorry for the confusion.

No problem. I thought maybe you had some extra info about this. I guess the mystery remains unsolved.

@Michael: The page you found is from the right Eric Aronesty (based on the associated photo). There is no mystery.

I am not a representative for Q² Solutions/Expression Analysis.

Expression Analysis currently exists as part of Q² Solutions. ea-utils is used daily within the company. The current official repo has been moved from Google Code to GitHub (https://github.com/ExpressionAnalysis).

Do you know if anyone is still maintaining it? That repo doesn't seem to have any activity either (besides a README and version change).

Mature code may only need infrequent changes. Blat was last updated in 2012 :-)

That's true, but ea-utils was previously frequently updated. Then it just stopped.

Google found a repo on github: https://github.com/zachcp/ea-utils and 138 repositories on github in total: https://github.com/search?&q=ea-utils No idea which one is the 'official' fork.
