Where to put KNIME data (fastq and bam/sam files) to make NGS nodes working and how to write a path to data?

Where to put KNIME data (fastq and bam/sam files) to make NGS nodes working? I have created a workflow from the NGS KNIME nodes including quality evaluation, Bowtie aligner and Mpileup from SAMtools. Not clear how to input data to make the nodes working? Should I create variables and somehow write a path to data? Thx.
