I tried to use Plink on Mac. I was able to successfully download and unzip the profile from "http://pngu.mgh.harvard.edu/~purcell/plink/". However, I couldn't open the file Plink in the unzipped folder. I always get the system report of "damaged file" and "I should move it to the trash". I'm wondering if anyone had encounter similar situation before and found his/her way out.

Thank you

If the file is damaged, then you have to redownload it. If not, then open a terminal, navigate to your plink folder, which is probably the plink-1.07-mac-intel and then type ./plink

The folder also contains a README.txt file, you could try if e.g. ./plink --file test works for you or not. For me when I type only plink it is not working but the ./plink does. Good luck! Udi

Thank you so much for your answer! It was really helpful. It turns out that I have to move the folder to the command path, which is under the /Users directory.
