I found the variants of gene AVPR1A very hard to figure out. For example, what position of RS3 327, 329, or 334 corresponds to? What does allele 334 mean? Are their rs#s for such variants?

Similar questions to other variants of the gene: RS1 & AGAT.

Read over a dozen paper and dozens of website and still could not get the heads or tails out of the mess.

I suggest you spend some time reading over the dbSNP http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/SNP/

Just browse and see what we have to work with.

Being there, done the research. There are 2589 SNPs associated with the gene, adding "rs3", "repeat", or "upstream" to the search will reduce the number of results to 0.
