Hi,

Combination of flow cytometry and bioinformatics are emerging field and lot of article published these days. So, i have an query related to this topic that I am also working on Immunophenotyping using flow cytometry. How would bioinformatics useful in Immunophenotyping field. Plz explain me.

Thanks

Regards,
Sakshi

In immunophenotyping, some common goals are to either quantify the number of cells in previously defined cell populations, or to identify new, previously unknown groups of cells that correlate with a response of interest. In both those cases, "bioinformatics" approaches for supervised and unsupervised learning, which were developed for domains like gene expression profiling, are very useful. In addition, as cytometers collect larger and higher-dimensional datasets, data management, processing and visualization tools developed in other bioinformatics and genomics projects are increasingly applicable to flow cytometry.

Thanks Ahill for reply, but what is the high-dimensional data in immunophenotyping ?
