Currently, I work as a language editor for an e-publishing industry. I did my post graduation in bioinformatics. Its been almost two and half years. I always wish to work in bioinformatics, but now I am so confused that what should I do now to fulfill that. What course should I learn? Should I do some benchwork or is that possible to start my career in research? Please help me out!
Maybe you should look for a PhD position, e.g. here:

And then write a letter?
That is usually how I get a job (writing letters).
You can perfectly start looking for a PhD as b.nota suggested. I would add that if you do some kind of course (online or presential) that might be of help. It is not necessary but it would allow you to refresh your bioinformatic studies and to show in your letter/CV that you are very interested in starting a career in Bioinformatics. In "coursera" there are some nice courses. Good luck!
You can always look for labs which want someone to be the analyst. I worked part time for a yeast lab doing simple bioinfo stuff for two years. The main thing you need in those environments is programming/computer skills, which most of the other lab members don't have.
