Seeking the most comprehensive database for the rat models (rn5) or a pipeline to generate a richer annotation for this organism.

Have you tried release 79 of Ensembl? Manual annotation by HAVANA is also available and merged with the automatic annotation by Ensembl where they are highlighted in gold, e.g. Trim32. If you want the latest assembly, Rnor_6.0 is available already.
