Hi Biostars,
GOrilla is old (latest NEWS, 2013), REVIGO is down [edit: it is up again], g:Profiler is great but does not seem to have fancy graphics. My searches in DuckDuckGo / Google did not lead me to find good replacements to produce eye-catching figures like with GOrilla and REVIGO.
Despite this is a good examples on how one should avoid web services, I am looking for one.
Any suggestion ?
Why not use an R package ? Maybe have a go (!) at GOsummaries.
In the long term I would prefer R packages, but in the short term it is better to have something that does not require to install R and to support and be expert in 3 different platforms (Win/Max/*nix) when supporting a diverse audience. But I would definitely prefer a website that is backed up with a R package that can also be used stand-alone.
You could set it up as a web service with Shiny.
Good idea. I just need to find someone to do it :)
REVIGO is up, at least for me. You can use web tools like 'isitdownorjustme' http://isitdownorjust.me/revigo-irb-hr/ to check before you post.
Glad that it is back and not 503 like a few hours ago !
If you 'just' care about the ontology, you can als use the Ontology Lookup Service . In general, there are a couple of options.
