Does anyone have a handy method for making a fasta header comply with the UniProt header specifications? http://www.uniprot.org/help/fasta-headers

In particular, I would like to reformat the output of a metagenomic Prokka analysis. I am perfectly happy py with using dummy values for "sequence version" or "protein evidence" fields. Thanks in advance!

What do your source fasta headers look like?

A typical fasta header from a Prokka run looks like: >ABX_00001 Protoporphyrinogen IX dehydrogenase [menaquinone]

where ABX_00001 is the locus tag and the rest is the description
