Job Description
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the lab of Dr Liye Zhang at School of Life Science and Technology of Shanghai Tech University, Shanghai, China. We are seeking a highly-motivated applicant interested in the using computational approaching to advance precision medicine to join our research group. We are currently starting several collaboration with Renji hospital to study kidney cancer/IgA diseases and with Shanghai No. 1 Hospital related to eye disease and with research group in Boston University to understand novel therapy option targeting LSF transcription factor in liver cancer.
Qualifications:
- Ph.Ds with a solid background in computational biology, bioinformatics; priority will be given to candidate with experience related to precision medicine.
- Candidate should demonstrate competency in complex and independent research projects; being self-motivated, pro-active, hard-working, and having a good teamwork mind-set.
- Priority will be offered to candidate will good records of completing independent research project(s) during their PhD and significant experience in handling large cohort and perform integrative analyses from multiple-dimensional datasets.
- Candidate is expected to be fluent or at least comfortable in writing Python and R scipts, and has a working knowledge of linux command lines and computing clusters.
- Priority will be given to the Candidate with statistics understanding/background.
Primary Responsibilities:
- To assume and conduct research independently;
- To assist the safety management of the laboratory daily operation;
- To prepare scientific presentations and publications;
- To supervise the experiments and data analysis of students as needed.
