I would like to present a paper in a hot research topic in bioinformatics. Can you suggest any topic?

It's pretty hot, but not really bioinformatics I would say. More technical.

Thanks, I'll check that.

This is a hot topic for some but it may not be so for you. If you and your colleagues don't use HiSeq 3K/4K patterned flowcell sequencing, then you would want to select something else for your presentation.

Illumina has a white paper available that addresses this issue.

Quite a broad question, can't you suggest which field you are more interested in? Genomics, transcriptomics,...

I guess everything related to long reads (PacBio/Nanopore) is pretty hot? For example the Canu paper for nice and efficient de novo assembly. Personal genomes and assembly graphs etc are also cool stuff, maybe http://biorxiv.org/content/early/2017/01/18/101493

"Genomics", "Genes" the fields I'm interested in. Do you have any suggestions ?

Thanks for the links,

could be the future of long reads in disease diagnosis, having better assemblies to cover long repeats and other low complexity parts of genomes and finally correction of the errors in Long reads.
