Dear all, I need to edit my tree, i.e.: change color of particular labels (branch tips), collapse few branches - and do it on UNROOTED (radiated) tree. I have tried FigTree - and, apparently, it does not allow to collaps branches in the regime of unrooted tree (?!); then I have tried MEGA - i can not change the color (I go: options - lebels - color, but nothing happens. maybe it is my computer's problem); I also tried iTOL online tool, but there I could not name my collapsed branches... :) any help, please! (not mentioning that I struggled with some other softwares that caused troubles already to download them). will be so glad to any advice :)

I might be wrong, and I don't have figtree in front of me to try, but I was pretty sure you could collapse (I think it's called "cartoon") nodes/branches even in Radial mode.

If not, have you tried an arbitrary root like midpoint for example? Perhaps that will let you do it.

yes, everything works perfectly with other types of tree, but I d prefer the unrooted. Cartoon works neither... thank you for the advice , though:)

Have you tried TreeGraph? Last time I tried it, it was slow but quite versatile. Not sure if it supports the circular view, though. In addition, don't forget you can use illustrator to modify graphs in pdf/eps/svg afterwards.
