Hello all,
im an undergraduated student, and Im developing a project were the ideia is to relate methylation with gene expression in cancer, and see the outcome or even predict it. I'm using the 450k array from TCGA. The values that we can access are Beta values, but in many pappers they suggest us to use M-values. The thing is, Im not quite sure if i understood the meaning of the M-value, and how it can be better compered with B-value. Since b-values are more for biological aswers and M-values for statistical purpose, I'm confused about wich one is better for me to use. I'm starting to think that the problem is, that i dont really understand concept of M-value. If anyone could help, I appreciate.
Thank you all
