Hi prabha,
You are starting off the wrong foot. First., do what you love. If what you make is priority to you, do you think you can "afford" to endure doing something you hate?

This is just an estimation, I do not think you will get more data than this

If you want to come to this field thinking it has software and development and should be paid in accordance to a software industry then you are wrong. You have to understand that this field is far from making a full blown service yet. Then salary depends on experience, skill sets, academic/industry/, country. You already have the range above but then if you want to make it as a monetary equivalent field better off with software jobs.

Are you asking for people to post their salaries here? (I hope you aren't.) Or are you asking about salary ranges? Current market from where?
Please do some searching, there are several related posts.
In some cultures it's perfectly fine to ask all and sundry what they earn. I believe it's a fairly normal question in the US. In my culture (UK) it would be more socially acceptable to ask them when they last had sex.
In my country, I think it is more socially acceptable to ask how much was last bribe to avoid a speeding ticket (or how much was last bribe to whatever) than the other two options. I am somewhat of a prude, though.
It varies by country, institution, whether or not you're talking industry or academia etc. Whether you'll easily find salaries for someone with a Masters instead of PhD too I'm not so sure.
