Hi All,
I am looking for information about the structure of an enzyme in a given tissue.
For example, The enzyme Phosphosfructokinase exists in three forms. PFKM,PFKL,PFKP The structure of the enzyme is different in different tissues. i.e" in Muscle is M4, liver is L4, and red cell is M3L, M2L2, or ML3."(uniprot)
I want to know the form in which it is expressed in pancreas. I am trying to find the tissue specific structure of many such enzymes. Is there any database where I can look for this information?
Many thanks,
Deepa
As mentioned in one of the answers, PDB is the repository for resolved structures. You may be able to use Uniprot or PDB to find related structures to any given PDB (though I don’t have specific info on how). It the same protein has been resolved in several forms, I would expect them to be linked somehow.
